Jewelry Making Classes:

Currently I am not holding classes on a schedule, but if you are interested in one please contact me.  If you can gather up a few of your friends who would be interested in learning, an option would be to hold a lesson in your home, and I will come to you!

Beginner Level Classes:

Intermediate Level Classes:

Advanced Level Classes:

Wirework I | Wirework II | Wirework III | Wireweaving (TBA)


Tools for jewelry making:

* Wire cutters or nail clippers
* Flat and chain nosed Pliers (with no teeth!)
* Round nose pliers (For wirework)
* File or emory board (For wirework)
* Crimp Pliers
* Measuring tape or small ruler
* Indelible marker (For wirework)
* Low tack masking tape


Beginner Level Classes:

Basic Bead Stringing:

Learn how to lay out your design, string and crimp so you can create your own necklaces and bracelets.

Materials needed:

Beading wire, beads, clasp, soldered jump rings (included with some clasps), crimp tubes, spacers and basic tools


Byzantine Chain:

This is a chain-maille technique of weaving jump rings together to form a chain. Great practice for opening and closing rings.

Materials Needed:

Jump rings. 2 pairs of chain nose pliers, (or 1 chain nose and one flat nose), a scrap piece of wire a few inches in length, a few beads (optional), clasp


Earrings:

Learn to make chandelier, cluster, simple drop, and briolette drop earrings.

Materials needed:

Chandelier earring components, headpins, jump rings or chain, earwires, small- to medium-sized beads, 20-22 gauge wire, chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers, wire cutters.


Link Bracelet:

This is an excellent opportunity to learn the basics of wire.  Learn to make simple loops and wrapped loops, as well as you own s-clasp.

Materials needed:

20 gauge wire, round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, wire cutters, medium to large beads, bead caps (optional).


Intermediate Level Classes:

Mosaic Pendant:

This is a great use for bead mixes or your leftover odds & ends.  I'll teach you to make the frame and then fill it in with beads.  Thank you to Eni Oken for teaching me this design!

Materials Needed:

16-gauge and 26-gauge wire, small to medium beads, large jump ring, round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, wire cutters, hammer & bench block.


Wire Crochet:

Learn how to make multi-strand necklaces using the most basic of crochet stitches and finish off professionally with cones.

Materials needed:

28 gauge wire, 2 cones, 6" of 20-gauge wire, clasp, extender chain (optional), medium- to large beads, 6-9mm crochet hook, round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers, wire cutters.


Solitaire Ring:

This is a ring people will say, “You made that?”  Learn how to manipulate the wire to form a beautiful pronged ring, with a facetted stone set in it.

Materials needed:

Advanced Level Classes:

Wirework I:

This class will help you learn wire techniques and incorporate them into link style jewelry, including simple loops, wire wrapped loops, jump rings, caged beads, spirals, swan clasps, and figure 8 links.  This class would be best suited to those who have worked with wire before or taken the Link Bracelet and Solitaire Ring class.

Materials needed:

16 gauge dead soft copper or sterling wire, round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, wire cutters, 4-5 large beads, hammer & bench block. Optional: bead caps, large jump rings (8-10mm).


Wirework  II: (Prerequisite Wirework I)

In this class we will make a link bracelet incorporating more wirework techniques to create a variety of links and we’ll discuss oxidation techniques.

Materials needed:

Dead soft sterling wire (16, 20 & 24/26ga), large jump rings (8-10mm, 16 gauge), round nose pliers, chain-nose pliers, wire cutters, large beads, hammer & bench block.


Wirework III: (Prerequisite Wirework II)

More wire links to add to your repertoire: love knot, easy link, double helix, triangle spiral, twisted wire horseshoe, infinity link, and freeform clasp.

Materials needed:

Dead-soft copper or sterling wire in gauges 16, 20, & 26, round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers without teeth, wire cutters, pen or pencil, hammer & bench block, drill (optional).
