Jewelry Care :
Care & Cleaning Instructions:
I strongly recommend that you put on your jewelry after your beauty products (perfume, hairspray, colognes, creams etc) have dried. Some components of our jewelry are
made from relatively delicate materials, so dropping or hitting it on hard surfaces may cause it to break or chip. Here are some care and cleaning suggestions:
Sterling silver
For tarnish removal, I recommend using a silver polishing cloth or dabbing on a bit of toothpaste, (not the gel kind) and gently scrubbing with an old tooth brush. Rinse clean afterwards. For a homemade cleaning solution, with no harsh chemicals, try this recipe:
Put aluminum foil on the bottom of sink or basin. Add 1/2-cup soda & a couple of tablespoons of salt to hot water. Lay items on the foil & let soak. Make sure the items touch the foil. This creates a chemical reaction, which removes the tarnish.
You may need to add more soda if you have a lot of silver to clean.
*Note: Cleaning an item with Bali silver will cause it to lose its patina.
To prevent tarnish
It is best to store your sterling silver pieces in an airtight container such as a zip bag when you are not wearing them.
Freshwater pearls & semiprecious stones
Items containing these should be cleaned with great care and I suggest using a silver polishing cloth, or taking the piece to a professional jeweler for cleaning. Freshwater pearls should have minimal contact with water, so do not wear them in the shower, pool, or any other place they may get wet.
